History, Week Seven...

Week 7's topics included:
1. Moses and the Exodus
2. The Ark of the Covenant and the Tabernacle
3. Joshua, Jericho, and Rahab

Pretest

Moses and the Exodus-read the lesson/story and watched Prince of Egypt movie. We went into detail about the plagues and L/K drew pictures of each one.

They are kind of blurry (if I wasn't so lazy I would scan them instead of pictures)--turning water into blood, frogs, lice, flies, dead livestock, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, killing of firstborn son...

K's...

L's...

The Ark of the Covenant and the Tabernacle-read the lesson, went into detail about the Ten Commandments and L/K wrote them down on paper for their notebooks. A nearby church had set up a life size Tabernacle for about a week and I wanted to take them to tour that but never got to--and I wasn't real excited about having to take Will and the twins on that tour too.

I would have liked to go into more detail about the Tabernacle, but time didn't allow. And it would have been cool to set up a tent to do this lesson and sing hymns or something in it. Oh well.

Joshua, Jericho, and Rahab-read the lesson. Would have been cool to re-enact the story with a wall of blocks, marching, and trumpets and shouting, but we didn't do that either.

Memory cards and maps have been shafted. Poor things.

Post test

Timeline/Wall of Fame-

Moses with thousands of Israelites fleeing Egypt (red dots are the Israelites), and the Ark of the Covenant (golden glitter) and Tabernacle...

Joshua with bricks fallen at his feet, and Rahab with a red rope (yarn)...

What we have so far...

That's all folks!
